Reviving a Classic: Breathing New Life into TRIBES 3: Rivals

TRIBES 3: Rivals was a sequel aimed at rejuvenating a beloved IP that hadn’t seen a new release since Tribes: Ascend (2012). With the multiplayer FPS space growing stale and Twitch streamers seeking something new, our goal was to bring back the excitement of the series to fans and a new generation. In my role, I spearheaded user acquisition, creative development, store optimization, and managed the console porting process. This project demanded a delicate balance between innovation and staying true to the roots of the game—a task made even more challenging by a 4 month deadline.

Rising to the Challenge:

Despite the pressures, the campaign delivered outstanding results. Our paid ad efforts achieved a 6.84% CTR, and TRIBES 3: Rivals was rated the #1 FPS during Steam Next Fest. We also grew from 0 to 124k wishlists in just four months, our North Star for game discoverability, demonstrating the success of our marketing strategies and the game's appeal. I also had the opportunity to partner with companies like NVIDIA, IGN, and influencer Jake Lucky, who assisted in getting this game out to the masses.

I not only created stunning cinematic screenshots using Unreal Engine 5 but also crafted compelling marketing copy, and orchestrated weekly campaigns with our influencers. The combination of tribalism and sci-fi in the Tribes lore allowed me to access unique creative energy, making this project both professionally rewarding and personally fulfilling.
